In 1847, Louis-Francois Cartier founded the Cartier brand at 31 Rue Montorgueil in Paris. In 1874, his son Jaffa Cartier inherited its management, and its grandsons Louis Cartier, Pierre Cartier and Jace Cartier developed it into a world-famous brand. In 1904, he designed the world’s first watch to be worn on the wrist – the Cartier Sandoz watch for the airplane pilot Albatou Sandoz
